Les Lapidiales, located in Port-d'Envaux, Charente-Maritime, is a unique artistic site where ancient stone quarries are transformed into an open-air museum by sculptors from around the world. Since 2001, this collaborative art project has invited artists to sculpt the quarry walls, creating a constantly evolving art gallery.
Visitors can wander among monumental sculptures carved directly into the rock, each work telling a unique story and reflecting the artist's vision. The sculptures represent a variety of themes, from mythology to nature, and offer a fascinating and immersive visual experience.
Les Lapidiales regularly organizes artistic events, such as artist residencies, sculpture workshops and temporary exhibitions. These events enable visitors to meet the artists, learn sculpture techniques and participate in the creation of works of art.
